There’s not much better than a coast getaway packed full of shopping, beach days, exploring glow worm caves and dining to your hearts content. On your next trip why not venture up to Mt Tamborine, and explore the local shops and national parks for something different.
While you’re here, why not check out Harbour Town – the place to be for outlet shopping. With shops like Armani, Coach, Mimco, Oroton, Kookai, Cue, Seafolly, Smiggle, Cotton On, UGG and Ben Sherman – there is something for everyone.
Grab a bargain, admire the labels, or stay for lunch and watch a movie at the theatre. There is plenty to do, but if you’re visiting make sure you go and check out the Tourism Lounge. Not only will you get a ‘Tourism Club Card’ for savings across a wide range of stores, they have complimentary tea, coffee and water and air-conditioning if you need a break. Plus, free stroller and wheelchairs and they’ll even store your luggage or shopping so you don’t have to carry them around with you all day.
The coast is famous for its beaches, but why not check out the green behind the gold and head up to Mt Tamborine.
Check out the Glow Worm Caves for a truly unique experience. You can see them in their natural habitat at Natural Bridge after dark, just make sure you bring a flashlight and sturdy shoes. Alternatively, you can visit The Glow Worm Caves at Mt Tamborine in their purpose built caves. Open daily from 10am-4pm you’re able to see these incredible creatures during the day – this is the better (and safer option) if you’ve got little ones or haven’t been to Natural Bridge before.
When you’re finished exploring, shopping and lazing on the beach why not check out one of the top 5 restaurants and cafes nearby.
For a relaxed meal, check out Vinnie’s Pizza Pasta and Ribs – it might not look like much from the outside but the food is delicious and loved by the locals.
Charis Seafoods is one of the most popular seafood takeaways on the coast, with a delicious range of fresh seafood, right on the Broadwater. Plus, if you are there at 1:30pm stay for the pelican feeding! You’ll get up close and personal with these incredible birds, and it’s an incredibly experience you won’t get anywhere else (the kids will love it).
For a fine dining experience you can’t beat Omeros Bros Seafood and Glass Dining and Lounge. Offering similar styles and experiences, both restaurants offer you spectacular views of the sun setting over the marina. Enjoy a seafood platter at sunset, and pick out your dream yacht, for the perfect romantic evening.
For the vegetarians, vegans and health conscious check out Giri Kana Cafe – offering a diverse range of options meals that everyone will love. Commonly acknowledged by locals for having the best vegetarian food on the coast, it’s worth checking out.
