The Gold Coast Multicultural Festival is once again showcasing the diversity of the Australian population. Held on the 6th of August from 10am-4pm, this event makes the perfect day out celebrating the skills and talents of our communities cultures.


There will be international acts from up to 35 nations as well as 65 stalls serving international cuisine, arts and information on particular cultures. Plus there will be rides and activities available for the kids. The event is free, although you’ll want to bring money to try some of the food that will be on offer. The Gold Coast Show is another popular event, and for good reason. Held on September 1st-3rd at the Gold Coast Turf Club and Showgrounds in Bundall. The show has been in operation since 1952 when it was originally named The Southport Show until it was renamed in 1959 to it’s current name.

Each year there is a fireworks display, Australiana displays, show bags, stage shows, wood chops, side show alleys, roaming entertainment, and a free family circus! There are also a range of competitions held through the weekend, from arts and crafts and cake decorating competitions to best in show for dogs, goats, poultry, cattle, horses and even rodents.
