Kokoda Challenge Gold Coast  –                           July 15 to 16
The Kokoda Challenge is another great event happening this July on the Gold Coast.  It’s hailed as Australia’s toughest team endurance event, measuring up at over 96km. It’s a cross-country team hike, with a time limit of 39 hours to complete.

It’s of special significance in Kokoda history as 96km is the same length of the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, and the time limit of 39 hours honours the 39th Militia, who were the first Australian force to engage with the Japanese in World War II.

The challenge consists of teams of four trekking the designated course along fire trails, crossing 12 creeks and climbing summits of 5000 metres of vertical elevation. It’s the ultimate test of courage, endurance and mateship, and as part of the challenge, you’ll also be raising money for a good cause. The money raised goes towards The Kokada Challenge Youth Program, which helps teenagers in need improve their lot in life, while giving back to the community.kokoda challenge

It’s an event that everyone should add to their bucket list and participate in at one point in his or her lives. To check it out or to register visit www.kokodachallengeevents.com.
