Gold Coast Marathon 30th June – 1 July 2018

This year is the 40th running of the Gold Coast marathon and its going to be one amazing Gold Coast Marathon 30th June – 1 July 2018 journey. It is certainly a weekend that should not be missed, with events for the whole family. Participating is a breeze – with a 4 km Junior Dash for those aged between 5 and 14, a 5.7 km fun run, a 10km run, the 21km half marathon and the gruelling 42 km marathon for the true running enthusiast. Staying at Sandcastles on the Broadwater for this event is an easy choice. The race runs right past the front doorstep of Sandcastles and the support crew don’t have to move from the hotel to watch the race! Aqua Splash, Southport Park Lands
Are you looking for a fun yet affordable adventure while on your holiday on the Broadwater? This park is only a 5-minute drive or a 3 km walk from Sandcastles and is the perfect activity for the whole family.

Kokoda Challenge 14 – 15 July

Want to come to the Gold Coast for a truly unique event? While there are always a wide variety of things to do while visiting, the Kokoda Challenge is one to surely get you out of your comfortKokoda Challenge 14 – 15 July zone.  There is the ultimate challenge of the 96 km event, with the gruelling 48 km event closely behind it, and also the school challenge 48km event for the adventurous 13-17 year age group. The event is also held for a truly great cause. This event is held annually to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the Australian Diggers during the Japanese invasion of Papa New Guinea. The events are all about supporting team members and working together to reach the end of the Challenge while also pushing team members to their physical limits.
