There is always so much to do on the Gold Coast and with events such as the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, the weekly Night Quarter Markets, and inaugural events like the Gold Coast Speech Festival it’s no wonder the coast is such a popular holiday destination. Plus you always have the stunning local beaches to explore, which are still beautiful even in winter – with a few brave souls going for a splash. And when you’re looking for the adrenaline rush you are never far from the local theme parks.
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon attracts over 43,000 visitors from outside the coast
with 27,000+ participants in a range of races. So whether you are competing, or looking to support loved ones the Broadwater is the perfect place to stay as it’s right in the heart of both the start and finish lines! The course which stretches across the Gold Coast is known for being one of the fastest and flattest in the world. For those of you competing each finisher receives a commemorative medal, shirt and certificate.

Why not try something different and witness the very first Gold Coast Speech Festival. This event has been designed to inspire and showcase the incredible talent the coast has to offer. There has always been power in speech; Martin Luther King, Theodore Roosevelt and Winston Churchil are just a couple of notable examples of people whose speeches have changed history.
Some of the speakers that will be gracing the stage include:
Mark Hunter: Mark is one of the keynote speakers in 2009 he beat 30,000 competitors to claim the Toastmasters Title.
Gavin Topp: For the boxing fans Gavin will also be speaking. After his renowned boxing career ended he created a program to help men transform their health and fitness through boxing, regardless of their current fitness levels.
Jason Ganis: The 2015 Young Entrepreneur Winner
While you’re visiting the coast be sure to enjoy the local beaches, there are so many to explore, dine at Marina Mirage for a luxury experience or just go for a walk around the Broadwater Parklands.
